Reddy Real Scene Matte Lipstick Review

Although it was a little late, which caused some stress, I got another beautiful lipstick to try out from 08liter!

I got the color I hoped for but Melan Rose is nothing like I expected. It looks like a darker nude pink in all the photos I could find online so I thought it might be the perfect nude color for me. As you can see its actually very dark and red! Its like a brick red without too much brown in it, which is actually exactly the other color I've been wanting to find.

The packaging is very sleek but the lip print in the bar code is such a cute touch!

Melan Rose really flows super well with my red hair and looks perfect on me! Even if its not what I expected at all I can tell I'll get a lot of use out of this color. One thing that I find really fun about getting lipsticks online is that you never know exactly how they're going to look in person. Being surprised by the perfect color is always a thrill!

The small slanted tip made it very easy for me to apply and it glided on nicely. With two coats the color was very opaque and covered the freckles on my lips, although the color did wear down a bit over time and leave them visible later.

Like many K-beauty products I've tried it has a strong scent. Its extremely hard to describe but to me it started out as a strong floral but the longer I smelled it the more it seemed like overly sweet candy. I wouldn't call it a bad scent but if you're sensitive it could be overwhelming. I could smell it while applying and for a while afterwards.

Color aside, I really like the formula so far. Its definitely matte but doesn't look dull. It didn't even feel drying at all! Unfortunately it did settle into the lines on my lips a bit more than I'd like, though that would probably be helped by exfoliating before applying it. I don't wear a lot of mattes so I didn't even think to do that.

Once the main color is gone it leaves behind a stain that didn't last very long on my lips but lasted over two days on my wrist even with micellar water, makeup remover, washing my hands a lot, and showering so it might last longer on someone else.

Overall I'm pretty happy with this lipstick! The color isn't one I'll wear super often but I'm thrilled to be able to add it to my collection because it just looks so good on me. It may just be my new special occasion color!
